Let us start out by sharing with you a letter from a listener. All of us at KADV praise God when we receive letters like this -- they encourage us as they confirm that all our efforts are worth while. Our daily prayer is that God will use KADV 90.5 FM and us for His purpose and glory.
Dear KADV,
Thank you so much, Brother White, for all your hard work at KADV. I confess, I never thought I would enjoy listening to KADV. I feared it would put me to sleep, but the POWER of Christ-centered radio has and continues to fill my mind with hope, courage and confidence in God my savior. Praise God!
Please accept this small offering towards your ministry.
All glory, praise and honor to God, the Son and the precious Holy Spirit.
Your brother in Christ,
Richard
Shar-a-thon is coming April 10th and 11th. God has been good and met our needs to keep KADV 90.5 FM on the air, but we believe that God has plans for the growth of KADV. We believe that Jeremiah 29:11-12 applies to KADV. “11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” And if He has plans to grow KADV He also has the resources to accomplish our growth. We don’t know what part you might play at KADV so we ask you to pray about it.
1. Prayer – receive prayer requests and follow up when appropriate
2. Financial support
a. We are increasing our goal for Shar-a-thon from what we usually get $30,000 to $50,000.
b. Special projects
i. To keep KADV on the web will cost us $50 per month this coming year.
ii. Remodel our studio and office space made available by the move of our transmitter
3. Here are some of the ways we could use your talent to volunteer your time at the station.
a. We need people to do the everyday chores of gathering the mail, email and phone messages and respond accordingly.
b. Stuff newsletters
c. Help put programs and announcements on the air or even host a portion of the day
d. Station maintenance
e. Volunteer coordinator
f. Thank those that give memorial gifts to the station.
Are any of these something that you could contribute toward?
q If you are a current donor, we would like to hear from you as soon as possible. We would like to invite those of you who like challenges to help by making your pledge available to use as matching funds during the Shar-a-thon. By receiving your response before we begin on April 10, we know how much we have to offer as a match. Would you like to put out a challenge to a particular group of fellow listeners? Please let us know. We depend so much on your valued support, and would like to build off that strong foundation.
By sending in your pledge or donation ahead of time will also make it possible to use our time during the Shar-a-thon to:
ü Focus especially on new donors, volunteers and prayer warriors to become a part of KADV 90.5 FM since this is the only way we can reach them.
ü Being more in touch with the community.
q We invite your participation in Shar-a-thon -- let us and KADV listeners know what KADV 90.5 FM means to you as Richard did above.
ü Come by the station during Shar-a-thon and tell us.
ü If you can’t come by, call (209) 537-1201 and leave your message on the answering machine so we can share your message in your own voice.
ü Or contact us by fax (209) 537-1945, email: helpfs@kadv.org or mail at KADV 90.5 FM, 2031 Academy Place, Ceres, CA 95307.
q Come visit us at our open house during Shar-a-thon 2007 at KADV 90.5 FM. Get to know Steve White, Jerry Moore and our student and listener volunteers.
While donations to KADV are Tax Deductible we want your donation to be because you have been blessed by KADV and want to share that blessing with others. We pray that you will consider how KADV 90.5 FM has blessed you and include KADV in your prayers and plans for 2007.
With God’s Blessing,

Dear Listener and Supporter;
Here it is the end of another exciting year. We hope and pray that it was a good year for you. Let’s take a look at what has happened at KADV this year and what we look forward to in 2007. I, Jerry Moore, have been on a special project that has kept me away from KADV since May, which prevented communication with you as I should have or would like to have. However, my absence has taught me the value of staying in touch.
We have held our own over the year, I thank God for sending us Dee Hamner to pick up those things in the office that I would have been doing. Thanks to generous supporters we have a replacement for our on-air computer and production computer.
We asked you to tell us: How Are We Doing? – Listener Comments…
“I enjoy the programs because they edify and encourage me in my walk with the Lord. Some of the programs add joy to my day and others offer solid Bible teaching. In addition, they inspire me to reach out to others, saved and unsaved, to share Jesus. Your music is wonderful because is exalts and magnifies Jesus.”
“In particular…I like the focus of KADV as it features both programs and music that center on God and help draw us closer to Him daily.
I pray that KADV will continually be blessed in their efforts and endeavors this year.”
Listeners have told us that you want more information on the songs you hear on KADV and to hear more from us in general.
We are looking to working on many projects that have been put on hold with my absence, which need your financial support and time if possible. But most of all we need your prayer support for directing the station where God leads. Here are the projects we are excited about:
q Our transmitter and antenna will be moved to the cell tower 200 feet north of the current tower. The city will only allow one tower on the property. We will need some people to help with our part, but the tower company will pay the cost of the move not KADV.
q The move of the transmitter will open up the space for us to use as studio and office space. This will allow us to add at least one new workstation for students. To make this a reality we are going to need your help with the construction of the office/studio area and probably $10,000 for material.
q On a more personal note,
o I am making it a priority to contact those of you that have expressed an interest in giving you time to help out at KADV.
o I will find more and better ways to keep in touch with you.
o I am planning to host a segment of the day and find others to do the same so that you will hear a voice. With this we will be better able to keep you informed about events in our area.
q Again on a personal note, as you might know Dee has been volunteering about 30 hours a week here at KADV. However, Dee has had a change in her family that will require her to find a part time job to supplement the family income. My prayer is that if it is God’s will with your support and an added emphasis on underwriting we might be able to offer her that job at KADV.
q With God’s help we can find ways to make ourselves more productive.
q We extend our many thanks to students and listeners who have stepped forward to help the ministry of KADV – Helping Families Succeed.
With your help we have been able to begin the task of refreshing our Music Library and adding the Christmas music we missed last year. These and other projects were wilting from benign neglect as the existing staff focused just keeping KADV on the air.
Your time doesn’t need to be an on-going commitment, just drop by when you have a spare hour and help us continue to bring new life to the Music Library and other projects.
Our prayer is that God will send someone or even several someones to help us. We welcome all of you.
Can you spare some time to come over and help out?
q We also send our many thanks to all of those who have sent donations in response to our July Newsletter.
We continue to need funds for operation and projects including remodeling our studios and upgrading our remaining six year old computers.
With the year end approaching we know that some of you are evaluating your budget for contributions. We pray that you will consider how KADV 90.5 FM has blessed you and consider including KADV in your Tax Deductible year-end donations.
With God’s Blessing,

One of the really exciting things we’ve discovered here at KADV is the power and comfort of Prayer. Since I became part of the radio station in 2001, I have just been amazed and humbled on seeing the power of God at work in the lives of those who come to Him with their needs. I grew up believing in Prayer, but with the belief that direct answers to Prayer were not something I could count on right away because God would answer, but with sometimes yes, sometimes no, sometimes just wait. Well, sometimes that isn’t terribly reassuring or comforting! It’s kind of like submitting a request to a large company for a refund. After weeks of waiting and more paper work, it may or may not arrive! But after learning to pray with some very sincere prayer partners, I have seen first hand how God works. And how fast He works! God promises that BEFORE we call, He will answer, and while we are still telling Him about what we need, He will hear. (Isaiah 65:24).
A while back, KADV had a new computer that we needed to connect to the Internet, but when we tried to connect it, but we had no luck at all. We called back the computer techs and they assured us the computer was working just fine when it left their store. We tried everything for a couple of hours with no results. We were SOOO frustrated. I finally remembered we hadn’t prayed about it yet. I bowed my head, apologizing to God for not coming to Him first, but asking His help in getting the computer to work. We needed that computer and its programs to be able to carry on our ministry at the radio station.
After praying, and before stepping out for a bit of dinner, I thought I’d try it one more time. I made sure all the connections were correct -- one more time. The computer connected to the Internet with absolutely no problem, on the first try and it has never caused a problem since! What all the specialists were unable to figure out over 4 hours time, God fixed after one short, desperate prayer to him. In Matthew 7:11 (NLT), Jesus says “If you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him.” We invite you to join us in Prayer Time, weekday mornings at 7:30 and Friday evening at 7:40.

Lookout – Message From Our General Manager
At KADV our goal is DO IT GOD’S WAY. As Yogi Bera said, “When you come to a fork in the road, take it!” God sometimes opens doors we don’t expect or hesitate to go through.
For me, during the past couple of months it seems that God has been asking me to close out the final phase of a project that my father-in-law and I started back in 1991 to upgrade and ultimately move KTRB 860 to San Francisco. KTRB 860 began broadcasting as the first radio station in Modesto and was on the air for 73 years.
This project has taken me away from KADV and will do so for most of the rest of this calendar year. For some time we have been requesting volunteers because it is the only way to get the job done. Let me introduce a new volunteer, Dee Hamner. Dee is working in the office and serving as Volunteer Coordinator. Right now she is wearing several hats, as are all of us, and would love to share them with you. If you give us a call, Dee may be the voice that you talk to at KADV.
I pray that God will lead me to have more time with KADV, but for now the gap my absence opens invites you to find your place at KADV. Please pray about how you can be used by God at KADV.
-- Jerry Moore, General Manager
Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will direct thy paths.
– Proverbs 3:5-6
October 10th & 11th are special days at KADV -- Fall Shar-a-thon, Doing It God’s Way, is coming up. We are filled with excitement because the staff at KADV has formed a renewed determination to allow God to guide the path of KADV. We are stepping out in faith and counting on the Lord to bless our station with matching funds from our faithful donors and to bring KADV new donors to join our group of supporters.
We would like to invite our listeners to join us in making this Shar-a-thon a gigantic success by –
· Contacting the station with comments about how KADV has blessed their life.
· Sharing stories that will build faith in all of us.
· Serving as a volunteer by accepting pledges over the phone or assisting in sending out thank you gifts
KADV goes on the air each day because of your faithful support — contact the station today and share your story or comment and volunteer to give us a hand in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
— Dee Hamner, Volunteer Coordinator
How Are We Doing? – Listener Comments
“Over the course of this past year, the broadcasts from the Voice of Prophecy have enabled me to face life’s challenges with courage and refreshed resolve to keeping eyes, ears, heart, and mind focused on my Lord Jesus.”
“Our income was cut in half. What to do? We talked about it, we prayed about it
and we know the Lord wants us to honor our pledge so we will continue to send
our check each month…”
On the Air
Some things are happening with our programming on KADV. One of our long-time favorite short programs is going away. MOMSense with Elisa Morgan from MOPS International is replacing their daily program with some half-hour specials a few times a year. You can still find a link to their website through our website, but we’ll miss those two minutes of inspiration every day.
The hosts for “Communicating God’s Way” have some book projects coming along. Joe and Michelle Williams have a new book out through Focus On the Family Ministries. Go to their website www.reconcilinggodsway.org for more information on their First Aid Kit for marriages. Gary and Mona Schriver have a new book out addressing ways to heal after infidelity in marriage. Called “Unfaithful,” copies are available at www.hopeandhealing.us.
Don’t forget to join us Monday through Friday at 12:30 on 90.5 FM for Communicating God’s Way.

Helping Families Succeed
The other day we were challenged by Family Life Today to state in order the Ten Commandments. This is a challenge that I didn’t take until recently. While I could maybe stumble through them they would be in the order of recollection, and certainly were not a part of the scripture that was written on my heart. As the world sees them: they are probably thought of as rules. As a human being from childhood rules are “meant to be broken”. Or maybe they could be considered restrictions to my life that seem to be “taking away my fun”. But as I asked God to help me memorize and understand His reason for including the Ten Commandments in His Bible and how knowing the truth shall set me free here is what I learned.
|
1. I shall have no other God before me than my Father in heaven. Because He heard my cries in bondage of addictions and my cries of fear in insecurity and rejection. He led me out of bondage by opening the waters and chains restricting me to freedom with His love, acceptance and grace on the Cross and provided hope with the resurrection. |
6. I shall not commit murder either in one act or by the small digs or off hand comments that might put down another. Instead I must remember the importance of everyone to God and love and accept them as God created them and offer them the grace and forgiveness that God has offered me to encourage them to be what God uniquely meant for them. |
|
2. I shall make idols of nothing whether in the earth, the heavens above or the seas below. Instead I shall see in the beauty of these created things a loving Creator God. I will see in the far reaches of the universe and the infinitely small details of the smallest particle of an atom the Omniscience, and Omnipresence of God so superior to anything in the creation and His control over what He created and loves. |
7. I shall not commit adultery, but save my self emotionally and physically for the helpmate that He has chosen for me. To keep my heart focused on the Wife (Husband) that I have (will) committed my life on earth to until death do us part before God. This so that I can support my helpmate in her (his) growth in God and she (he) can see God’s commitment to her (him) and her (his) life. |
|
3. I shall not use the name of the Lord in vain. I will not carelessly or frivolously refer to the God of the universe or use His name in profanity. I will remember that His name is a part of who He is such as Emanuel God with Us and Wonderful Counselor showing His intense love, acceptance and grace for each of us. |
8. I shall not steal anything including the hopes and dreams of others in my life. I will look for the purpose that they were created by God that I might encourage them and build them up as God has done for me. |
|
4. When I remember the Sabbath Day and make it holy I will remember a God that knows that we can not go without Him or continuously focus on the things and duties of this world. He knows that we need time to recharge our batteries, and that He is the source of energy to recharge them. He makes sure that we can get what we need in the other six days so that we can put aside those distractions for a full day and rebuild our relationship with Him and others that He as put in our lives our family and the Body of Christ. |
9. I shall not bear false witness against my neighbor. I shall not spread gossip of others or listen to gossip from others. Instead I shall look for the good in others that I might build them up encouraging them and others to see them as God sees them. |
|
5. Honor your father and mother, the first command with a promise of long life in the land of promise helps me remember the importance of family to God. In honoring our parents we be an example to the world of the importance of family as God designed marriage. |
10. I will not covet anything that my neighbor has. I will not be envious of the possessions of others. I will learn to be satisfied with the circumstances I find that god has provided me. With this comes the peace that passes all understanding. |
So as you can see I have learned that the Ten Commandments are not restrictions, but rather reminders of what God is and how He is concerned about us and our lives.
February 15, 2005
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ;
Here it is mid February already, and it seems that with the details of running KADV I have not kept you up to date with what is happening at KADV. Mostly we have been struggling to get our programming on a more modern computer system. Thursday, February 3 at 2:30 in the afternoon we switched over from our 10 year old automation system to the new system using 5 year old computers and sound cards. The transition has not been without its hiccups, and we apologize for the missed programs and other glitches. Hopefully we have corrected most of those problems, though the modern software that we are using does not work well on the old slower computer. Enough of that, now for the real purpose of why KADV is on the air.
We at KADV believe that Stanislaus County is as much a mission field as are the third world countries. According to statistics presented to us by Youth for Christ only 10% (8000 out of 80000) of our youth know Jesus Christ as anything more than a swear word. Our families within the church are experiencing divorce and are blending families at the same or higher rate than in society as a whole. With two-parent working families or single parent families our youth are left on their own much of the time. Thus we have selected programming that addresses the issues of the day from a Biblical perspective to Help Families Succeed, and counter the constant bombardment of the worldview of how to relate individually and in the family through television programming and advertising.
We realize that we cannot do this without our focus being on Jesus Christ. Therefore, our theme this year at KADV is ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST.
Philippians 4:13 says: “13I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The reverse is also true, without Christ our efforts will be limited and ineffective. Therefore, we believe we must start everyday, every project and every relationship with Christ in the center of that day, project or relationship. We invite you to participate with us this year in centering our lives on Christ.
We need your intercessory prayers on our behalf, and pledge our prayer support for you as we learn of your needs. We pray for you on Morning Prayer time each day at 7:30 and on Friday evening at 7:45 and at our staff prayer time each morning.
KADV depends on your support to stay on the air and to reach out to you in other ways. This is labor intensive so we need your vote of confidence in the form of your financial support. We need your support for operating expenses, salaries and the specific goals for this year listed on the back of this letter. As the Holy Spirit leads we ask you to consider your financial support for our ongoing needs and these projects. Contributions at year end have in the past carried us through to Shar-a-thon, but this year contributions were insufficient to fund our salaries in February.
Sincerely, your brother in Christ
Jerry Moore, General Manager, KADV
KADV 2005 GOALS
KADV is primarily supported by the donations of our listeners. ($91,500) Typically our Shar-a-thon each year will supply 50% of the needed funding. This years Shar-a-thon is scheduled for the first full week in March 7, 8, 9. For the first time last year we ran our Shar-a-thon without the use of outside talent to host the event. We were fortunate to have the broadcast class students on the air and behind the scenes helping. Again this year you will hear and talk to the students during our Shar-a-thon.
Other areas of support include:
· a salary reimbursement grant that runs for another year ($16,500)
· Underwriting of our programming by businesses ($36,000)
· Memorial Gifts ($10,000)
1. Operating costs to keep KADV on the air. ($144,000 - $395 per day 365 days per year).
2. Remodel the current studios to include workstations for the students in the broadcast class.
a) Replace the sound proofing with non-hazardous material. ($1,000)
b) Paint and re-carpet the area. ($1,500)
c) Use the space freed up by removing the 11-year old automation system with new workspace and cabinetry. ($500)
d) Upgrade our computers, used for on-air and student workstations. ($3000)
3. Use the new automation system to permit having all the day hosted. (Volunteers)
a) Let you in on a little secret – much of the people that you hear on the air are not really there at the time. Instead of live it is Memorex and called voice tracking.
b) With the new automation system we can have people come in and “voice track” information like announcing the artist, title and CD title for the music that you are hearing, what is going on in our area and the general weather forecast.
4. Putting our music play list on the Internet and give you access to the music we air on KADV. (Volunteers)
January 28, 2005
We at KADV have adopted as our theme “Helping Families Succeed”. You might ask why we think that families need help to succeed? We know the need from the experiences in the lives of those here at KADV over the past couple of years. We see the need in surveys that show more people have experienced divorce in their family than those that have a long term marriage. I see it in the eyes of those I tell that Barbara and I have been married for 38 years. I wasn’t sure of what to say to:
Does your relationship with Christ or your church let you know what would you say?
KADV nor any one church can meet everyone’s needs alone. To do what we believe God is calling KADV to do we need your prayers and support.
To Help Families Succeed KADV is providing:
To further help people in need one on one we want you to let us know what your church is doing to meet people’s needs.
We can then pass the word on to those in need over the air, on our web site www.kadv.org or when they call. With your help we will Help Families Succeed!
Please take some time and tell us why you Listen to KADV 90.5 FM. Thank you for responding.
